Observartorio de Asia
¿Qué hacemos?
El Observatorio de Asia es una unidad de investigación integrada en el Centro para el Bien Común Global, en la Facultad de Derecho, Empresa y Gobierno de la Universidad Francisco de Vitoria. El Observatorio se centra en las relaciones internacionales de Asia y se divide en las regiones de Asia Central, del Sur, del Sudeste y del Nordeste. La unidad pretende ser un centro de investigación mediante la realización de las siguientes tareas:

Recopilación de datos

Acceso estructurado a los medios de comunicación de cada región

Artículos de opinión de los investigadores

Organización de charlas, conferencias y talleres especiales

Organización de proyectos de investigación competitivos

Promoción de la publicación de artículos en revistas y documentos de trabajo

Ofrecer supervisión a los estudiantes que realicen tesis sobre política internacional asiática

Estimular la internacionalización de nuestra comunidad
¿Quiénes somos?
El Observatorio de Asia trabajará con socios a nivel de universidades, instituciones públicas, grupos de reflexión y empresas en España y en el extranjero.
El Observatorio está compuesto por investigadores senior, "Non-Resident Fellows" e investigadores junior. El director y los coordinadores regionales son investigadores senior con funciones de dirección. El director establece las directrices generales del Observatorio y lo gestiona, apoyado por los coordinadores regionales, que se ocupan de las actividades relativas a cada región bajo su supervisión.
Los investigadores senior y los becarios no residentes podrán organizar eventos en Madrid o conjuntamente con socios en otros lugares, publicar artículos de opinión, publicar artículos en revistas con un incentivo económico del CBCG a través del Observatorio. Los "Non-Resident Fellows" visitarán Madrid según su conveniencia y con el apoyo del Observatorio. Los investigadores junior apoyarán el trabajo del Observatorio, incluyendo la participación en eventos, publicaciones y proyectos de investigación, adquiriendo así una valiosa experiencia académica.

Lia Vargas
Lia Vargas is a third-year student of International Relations and Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the Francisco de Vitoria University. She is a member of the debate society, a finalist in the 2022 National Oratory Contest of Panama, and a graduate of the 2023 Latin American Laboratory of Citizen Action. She has participated in various Model UN simulations and other international activities.
Sabrina Senderos
Sabrina Senderos Furdi is a student of International Business Management and International Relations at the Francisco de Vitoria University. She is interested in Asian international relations and the political, business, and economic analysis of the region. She joins the Observatory of Asia as a Junior Researcher to contribute to academic research and deepen understanding of Asian regional dynamics.
Enrique Moreno
Enrique Moreno de Acevedo Gorostiza is a student of International Relations and Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at the Francisco de Vitoria University. After having lived six years in Washington, D.C., he has cultivated a deep interest in geopolitics, politics, history, and international affairs. With a strong passion for Chinese affairs, he is currently learning Mandarin Chinese. Member of the UFV's Debate Club and has participated in various Model UN simulations.
Rafael Peinado
Rafael Peinado Quesada is studying International Business Management and International Relations at the Francisco de Vitoria University. He is currently pursuing a specialization in finance at the University of the Hersperides, focusing on multimarket investment and diversification. He is a junior researcher of the Asia Observatory, driven by his curiosity about the region and its culture, as well as his interest in understanding in depth how business, politics, and economics interact in these countries.
Valeria Peña
Valeria Peña Ramirez is a student at Francisco de Vitoria University, currently in her third year of International Business Management and International Relations, with an interest in Asian geopolitics and the analysis of global economic and political dynamics, with special attention to Asia's role in the international system.
Non-Resident Fellows
Effie Charalampaki
Effie Charalampaki serves as a Research Fellow in the Jean Monnet Chair on Climate Change, Energy Security and the Eastern Mediterranean in the Department of Economics at UTH, Greece. Prior to this position, she was the founder and Head of the Research Program on the Theory and Practice of International Relations in IIER, Athens. She established and coordinated the International Relations Theory Working Group in the International Politics Research Program at IDIS. Her academic background includes undergraduate and graduate studies in the USA, where she also gained professional experience at the Greek embassy in Washington, D.C. and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Her research interests include IR theory, complexity theory/science, complex systems theory, systems architecture, international security governance, anticipatory governance, innovation, methodological pluralism and regional studies focusing on the Eastern Mediterranean and Japan. She is the co-editor of four forthing volumes by Routledge, Edward Elgar and Springer
